DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cobol Developer Lead
POSITION PURPOSE:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Participates
as a technical expert in design, development, testing, and debugging new system
modules or enhancements to existing application
* Analyzes
problems and provides recommendations for application improvements
* Provide
technical guidance and leadership for less senior developers in the
requirements, planning, modeling, development, deployment and support of the
system
* Work with
software vendors to provide timely support and resolution to issues
* Available to
provide 24X7 support on rotating pager duty
* Establish
and maintain working relationships with internal business customers, internal
IT support groups and vendors to achieve project goals
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Qualifications:
*
Undergraduate degree in CS/CE/CIS/MIS or Engineering/Technology or related
field or equivalent experience/training
* At least 7+
years of development experience
* 5+ years of
Cobol Development experience
* 5+ years of
DB2 Development including SQL
* Experience
with a variety of technologies including: IBM MVS, Windows, DB2 SQL, FTP,
SFTP, SCLM, TSO, CISCS, Javascript, Java (Struts), REXX, SAS,PL/SQL,Oracle
Developer.
* Must be well
organized, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices,
and most importantly, innovate through any problem with a can-do attitude
* Proficient
in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Project, EXCEL, and Work.
* Proficient
in SharePoint
* Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
* Financial
System’s experience – a plus.

This position is responsible for managing receivable
balances associated with domestic cargo credit customers. The ideal candidate
must properly balance the fiduciary needs of the company while building and
maintaining a strong healthy relationship with the customer.
The candidate will service and resolve Cargo receivable
customer inquiries with the highest degree of courtesy and professionalism,
obtain payment on delinquent accounts, audit and investigate payment
discrepancies and perform accounting related adjustments in accordance with
proper accounting principles and company guidelines.
The position requires the candidate to be comfortable with
extensive customer contact and collection efforts while navigating challenging
discussions with the objective to achieve customer satisfaction while ensuring
the accuracy of the receivable.
The candidate will act as a liaison between the customer
and various AA Cargo departments to facilitate dialogue as it relates to
accounting, billing or rating issues and will proactively identify and
recommend solutions that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and the
company.
The candidate must also be flexible and willing to
perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
* Bachelor’s
degree in accounting or business degree preferred or equivalent work experience
in related field
* Articulate
with exceptional verbal and written skills
* Ability to
work in a fast paced environment with multiple competing deadlines and minimal
supervision
* Adaptable
for face to face meetings and presentations with customers
* Strong
analytical and problem solving skills
* Strong PC
skills necessary (MS Excel, MS Word, etc)
* Ability to
read, write and speak the English language. Fluency in Spanish also a plus
